Associate Housing Developer

Reports to:
Chief Operating & Housing Development Officer

Status:
Full-Time, Non-Exempt

Term:
Ongoing, full-time position. Schedule is Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–5:00 PM, with occasional meetings or events outside standard hours.

Compensation:
$48,000–$70,000 annual salary, paid bi-monthly. Placement within range based on experience and qualifications.

Location:
Dallas, Texas. Hybrid (Office/Virtual) with light travel required.

The Associate Housing Developer supports the planning, financing, and execution of affordable housing projects across Dallas County.

This role works at the intersection of development, research, and community engagement—assisting with financing packages, coordinating project activities, and supporting outreach efforts in neighborhoods where development is taking place.

Ideal candidates bring a strong interest in affordable housing and community development, along with the ability to manage multiple projects, conduct research, and collaborate across teams and partners.

Term: This is a one-year fellowship with possible renewal for a second year. Schedule will be Monday – Friday 9am to 5pm, with occasional evenings and weekends.

Compensation: $58,000 annual salary, paid bi-monthly.

Location: Dallas, Texas. Hybrid.

Builders of Hope CDC’s Housing Justice Policy Fellowship offers an opportunity for emerging policy leaders to support research, analysis, and advocacy focused on housing stability and anti-displacement efforts in Dallas. Fellows will contribute to policy research, community-informed analysis, and written materials that help translate complex housing and tax policy into accessible guidance for residents, advocates, and stakeholders.
